It has been confirmed that original actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the latest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.

A Major Comeback for the Franchise

Lawrence and Hutcherson are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. Speculation suggests their roles will likely occur in a brief glimpse ahead, given that the original saga concluded with their characters living in peace.

This marks the sixth film in the global Hunger Games franchise.

Sunrise on the Reaping draws its story from a 2025 novel by author Suzanne Collins. It will be the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who was behind most of the previous films in the series.
